The last poem I've decided to do is performed on TEDTalks the same program in which Shane Koyczan was founded. I also decided to do a female spoken word poet, seeing as they seem so impacting and relatable for me. The female that I chose for my last video is named Sarah Kay, the name of the poem intrigued me because I am a female and wonder about having children. I am also curious because of my last video, I wonder if Kay would offer some advice to stop the cycle of self-conciousness that females have. Hre descriptions of things that she would do for her daughter and even things that she went through, but in the end everything will be okay. I noticed, however, that this crowd didn't seem to care that much about her poem, which offended me a little because I wanted more reaction out of them. I saw that they gave her a standing ovation . I didn't watch the whole video, one because it was 18 mins long and at times it got dry. However I did get about half way though, I like that I ended with this poem because it gave the grounds of what a Spoken Word poem was/is, which is what this whole blog is about.
